Job description
Transport & Environment (T&E), Europe's leading clean transport think tank and campaign group, is looking to hire a new position to coordinate the work at the intersection of transport and electricity. As Transport-Electricity Integration Manager, you will lead T&E’s work on integrating transport electrification with Europe’s electricity systems, with a focus on advancing grid readiness for zero emission transport, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) standards and adoption, and other supporting EU policies.
Reporting to the Energy Director and working collaboratively across T&E’s road (cars and trucks), non-road (shipping, energy, aviation), and national teams, you’ll be instrumental in building and coordinating strategies for a seamless, sustainable integration of electric vehicles into Europe’s grids. This position offers the chance to lead ground-breaking work at the intersection of transport and energy in Europe.
Key responsibilities:
Shape and coordinate T&E’s strategy on grids and the integration of transport with electricity. Responsible for developing positions on EU initiatives, ensuring T&E priorities are central to policy development and implementation.
Develop and execute advocacy campaigns for EU policies on grids, V2G, and transport grid integration.
Oversee T&E’s European programme on V2G/grid integration, including advancing the EU Grids Action Plan and supporting legal frameworks on European grids.
Serve as spokesperson on EU transport-electricity integration, representing T&E’s vision in discussions with policymakers, industry, and partner organizations.
Drive cross-team and national-level collaboration: working in partnership with T&E’s policy and national office teams and directors in the implementation of the work. Ensure strategic alignment across T&E’s teams working on road and non-road electrification and national offices, coordinating work to ensure consistency and coherence in goals, timelines, and advocacy.
Build partnerships with key external stakeholders, including EU policymakers, grid operators, and industry experts, to drive impactful outcomes.
