Transport & Environment is Europe's leading advocate for clean transport and energy. We are looking to strengthen our HR team in Brussels. We are recruiting a junior Payroll Officer to manage Belgian payroll and coordinate international payroll processes. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and flexible environment with a strong international component.
As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing HR processes and payroll in an international context. Your main tasks will include:
HR Operations: Daily tracking of employee requests, acting as the first point of contact for all HR-related questions, and contributing to the improvement of HR tools and procedures.
Payroll and Benefits: Preparing Belgian payroll (calculating leave, managing absences), collecting and verifying data for international payroll in coordination with external providers. You will also act as a liaison between the company and payroll providers and respond to employee inquiries. You will manage employee benefits programs (health insurance, pensions, meal vouchers, eco-vouchers) and be the point of contact with insurance companies.
Data Compliance and Management: Maintaining and updating employee records in compliance with GDPR and local regulations, optimizing the HR Information System (HRIS).
Employee Experience: Managing onboarding and offboarding processes, while contributing to various HR projects such as performance management, recruitment, and training.
Collaboration with the Finance Department: Preparing payroll-related data, managing, accounting files, reconciliation, and payroll analytical reports.
Job requirements
NEED TO HAVE:
A bachelor's or master's degree in human resources management, payroll, or a related field.
Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll and Belgian social legislation.
An interest in international payroll processes and a strong ability to work with numbers.
Advanced Excel skills and excellent organizational skills (attention to detail, meeting deadlines).
Fluent in both French and English, both spoken and written.
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience with cafeteria plans and mobility budgets.
Interest in talent acquisition and skills development.
Knowledge of an additional language (Dutch, German, Spanish) is a plus.

PRACTICALITIES
Location for this position is Brussels (minimum three days in the office).
Please note that for this position, T&E cannot provide visa sponsorship to work in Belgium.
Ideally, the candidate should be available to start working from March 2025.
