Job description

Electricity Grids Expert

T&E, Europe's leading clean transport think tank and campaign group, is looking to hire a new position to support T&E’s work on the integration of electrified transport into the broader grid and electricity system. As Grid Expert, you will lead T&E’s research on integrating transport electrification with Europe’s electricity systems. Your focus will be on policies that support the simultaneous decarbonization of transport and the electricity grid while maximizing synergies between the two. This includes areas such as grid readiness for zero emission transport, vehicle-to-grid (V2G), renewables deployment.

Reporting to the T&E Electricity and Grid Manager and working collaboratively across T&E’s teams (both in Brussels and in T&E’s national offices), you’ll be instrumental in building the technical expertise for a seamless, sustainable integration of electric vehicles into Europe’s grids. This position offers the chance to lead ground-breaking work at the intersection of transport and energy in Europe.

This role will involve:

  • Analysis of EU and national grid policies, with a particular focus on countries, where T&E has national offices (Paris, Berlin, Rome, Madrid, London, Warsaw).

  • Leading EU-level and national research on grid related challenges and opportunities for rolling out charging infrastructure (e.g. Megawatt Charging Systems for electric trucks, depot charging, onshore power supply in ports). This will include the commissioning of topical studies on grids with external consultants.

  • Contributing technical expertise to national grid advocacy plans jointly with T&E national offices.

The position can be based in Brussels or in any of the cities where T&E has a national office (Paris, Berlin, Rome, Madrid, London, Warsaw). The job will involve occasional travel to Brussels and other European capitals. The job offers flexibility for working from home.

Interview process:

First-round interviews will take place the week after, by videoconference. A second round of interviews will follow. The successful candidate will be expected to start as soon as possible.

Deadline for applications: 30/09/2025
