Want to shape the future of EV charging in Europe?
Transport & Environment (T&E), Europe’s leading clean transport think tank and campaign group, is looking for a Vehicles Policy Manager to lead our work on charging infrastructure for both cars and trucks. This is an exciting opportunity to drive policy change at both EU and national levels, ensuring Europe has the right charging infrastructure to support the transition to electric mobility.
Key responsibilities:
Lead T&E’s work on charging policy, covering both passenger cars and trucks.
Lead on EU-level advocacy, in particular for the review of the EU’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) law.
Develop expertise on charging policies, assess their effectiveness, and provide strategic guidance to T&E’s Brussels team (cars and trucks) as well as national offices.
Support the development of national charging masterplans, providing tailored advice and briefings to NOs.
Collaborate closely with T&E’s truck and car teams, ensuring alignment between policy priorities.
Lead T&E’s charging hub, helping to coordinate monitoring, analysis, and best practices on EV charging policies and developments across Europe.
Engage with key stakeholders, including EU policymakers, industry representatives, and civil society organizations to shape policy discussions and decisions.

The ideal candidate will have:
Essential requirements:
Proven experience in EV charging policy: At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in policy, industry, advocacy, or related fields.
Ability to work independently and strategically, leading a work program autonomously while aligning with T&E’s broader objectives.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working with policymakers, industry experts, and NGOs.
Strategic thinking abilities, able to assess policies and translate complex issues into actionable recommendations.
Project management skills, with experience coordinating initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, able to craft clear, impactful policy messages for different audiences.
Good to have:
Background in grid infrastructure, demand flexibility, energy systems, or EV charging business models.
