Consistent implementation and stringent enforcement of these measures will be the number one priority in the coming years. The policy lead will be expected to contribute to advocacy work at the EU, member state and other stakeholder levels in order to achieve the highest ambition during the 2024-2029 European legislative cycle.

The role will involve:

  • Lead the T&E’s clean shipping campaign at the EU level

  • Developing of position papers and advocacy & analytical materials

  • Establishing relationships with regulators, NGO representatives and industry stakeholders to expand T&E’s outreach in Europe;

  • Responding to and generating media interest in T&E priorities in European policy-making;

  • Attend the key policy meetings, speak and represent T&E’s advocacy work at industry, policy or NGOs events;

  • Support the Shipping team in their overall functioning.

  • Relevant work experience and interest in climate-related issues and the energy transition;

  • The ability and motivation to learn technical, economic and legal information, to develop under limited supervision new political, economic or legal arguments and evidence and use them to convince key stakeholders;
