Description

Are you interested in transport and the green recovery of Ukraine? Would you like to contribute to the advocacy, policy and technical analysis for the benefit of sustainable transport development and EU accession of Ukraine? Would you like to build up your policy network in Brussels being a part of the leading Brussels-based NGO promoting cleaner transport in Europe? Then this internship is for you. T&E is offering an internship for a period of one year, ideally starting no later than May 2026.

What will you do?

The successful candidate will assist in steering Ukrainian legislation, EU funding and reform markers for Ukraine to promote a more sustainable transport system, in particular, legislative frameworks on truck tolling, promoting clean vehicles and efficient public transport.

Your work will include:

●Research and analysis on policy proposals, amendments, legal acts and reforms in Ukraine connected to transport and EU accession

● Attending meetings with different stakeholders and policymakers in Brussels and Kyiv

●Assisting in data collection on vehicles, charging, energy consumption through desk research and reaching out to Ukrainian think tanks and research institutes

●Drafting concise and informative policy briefings, reports and other communication material

●Supporting the well-functioning of the existing coalition with other NGOs and think tanks

●Helping to organize events and roundtables

●Developing and implementing campaigns and proposing analytical work to support the policy goals where needed

Candidate profile

● Knowledge of EU institutions and climate/urban/transport policy

● Experience working in Ukraine

●A professional level of English (working language) and Ukrainian.

● Being able to work collaboratively

●Being prepared for occasional work trips to Ukraine

Practical information

The position is full-time, for one year, with a contract according to the Belgian legal framework of “Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle”. The internship is remunerated at €1500 per month.

This position is advertised as a fixed-term internship of 12 months based in Brussels. While we offer a flexible working environment, preference will be given to candidates who are able to come work regularly on site in Brussels.
